About the team and the role
We are looking for a motivated and empathetic Employment Specialist to join our IPS Drug & Alcohol Team in Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub which provides a central point of information, guidance and support for residents and businesses in the county. Our mission is to help people access employment opportunities whilst supporting employers to find the right people with the right skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol use to find and sustain meaningful paid employment. Using the nationally recognised Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, you will empower people to achieve their employment goals whilst working closely with recovery teams, employers and community partners. Working collaboratively with recovery practitioners, you will promote the benefits of employment as part of recovery.
This varied and dynamic role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community by helping people build confidence, independence, and a route into sustainable employment. About You
You will have a passion for supporting people to achieve their goals, excellent communication and relationship building skills, ability to work independently and manage a varied workload. Experience in employment support, recovery services, health, social care or community engagement is highly desirable.
Your strong communication skills will enable you to build effective partnerships across a wide range of stakeholders, including other GCC teams, partner agencies and other clinical services. These relationships will help expand the skills, knowledge, and employment opportunities available to the people we support.
