Are you passionate about supporting people with mental health needs to build confidence, maintain their accommodation, and live as independently as possible? Then we would love to hear from you!

About the role:

We have two full-time Enablement Coordinator positions available within our Supported Accommodation Service in the Mental Health Social Work Service. These posts are fixed term for 12 months.

The Supported Accommodation Service works with adults with mental health needs who require support to live safely and as independently as possible in their accommodation. The service focuses on building daily living skills, promoting choice and control, supporting tenancy sustainment, and helping people to connect with their community and wider support networks, within a supported living environment. The overall goal of the service is to support people to move into independent housing.

As an Enablement Coordinator, you will provide practical, person-centred support to individuals living in supported accommodation. You will work alongside people to identify their strengths, goals and support needs, helping them to develop the skills and confidence needed to manage day-to-day living, maintain their accommodation, and increase their independence. You will gather and record information clearly and accurately, contribute to support planning, and work collaboratively with colleagues, housing providers, health professionals and community partners to ensure people receive coordinated and effective support.

About you:

In the Supported Accommodation Service, we understand the importance of relationship-based support and the difference this can make to people’s independence, wellbeing and recovery. To join us, you must have:

  • a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Community Work, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent Health and Social Care experience
  • training related to Health and Social Care
  • experience of working with individuals, ideally in a mental health setting, who need support to achieve outcomes, particularly around independent living, wellbeing, housing or tenancy sustainment
  • evidence of good interpersonal skills, including the ability to build positive working relationships with people using the service, colleagues and partner agencies
  • good IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office and an ability to use and learn in-house systems.
  • awareness of the UK benefits system would be desirable.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do and how we treat each other. They provide essential guiding principles about the way that we work and set the tone for our culture, and identify what we, as an organisation, care about.  Read more about our values on our website.

If you hold the same behaviours and approach, then we want to hear from you! In exchange, we will provide you with full training and support to help you succeed in your role.
