Following significant investment in Gloucestershire Children's Services and the implementation of the Department for Education's Families First Partnership Programme reforms, we are looking for an experienced and inspirational Family Help Team Managers to join:

Stroud- permanent

Cheltenham- 1 year FTC 

 

About the role 

As Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership and oversight to a team of social workers and alternatively qualified practitioners delivering services to disabled children with complex needs. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality practice, safeguarding children and young people, and working collaboratively with families, education, health and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes. 

 

You will 

  • lead and manage the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services for children and families

    provide management oversight for children, including safeguarding and statutory interventions where required 

  • work closely with health, education and partner agencies to coordinate effective plans and support packages 

  • support children and families through a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach 

  • ensure children, young people and families are actively involved in assessment, planning and decision-making 

  • maintain oversight of short breaks, Children in Need, Child Protection and legal planning processes as appropriate

About you 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated social worker who will: 

  • be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.  

  • have extensive experience of working with children and families in a statutory social work setting 

  • be knowledgeable about legislation and guidance relating to disabled children and safeguarding 

  • have experience of leading and developing social work practitioners and creating a positive learning culture
